Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
- 250 g thinly sliced roast beef (or shredded beef)
- 6 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- Open the refrigerated biscuit dough and separate each biscuit. Flatten each one slightly with your hands or a rolling pin.
- Chop the roast beef into small pieces. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Place a piece of cheese in the center of each biscuit. Add a spoonful of seasoned beef on top of the cheese.
- Fold the biscuit edges over the filling and pinch tightly to seal. Place seam-side down in the baking dish.
- Brush the tops with melted butter. Optionally, mix in garlic powder or parsley before brushing.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes until the biscuits are golden and puffed. Remove and let rest for 5 minutes.
- While the biscuits bake, prepare the au jus by heating beef broth in a saucepan. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Simmer gently for 5 minutes.
- Serve the biscuits warm with the au jus in small bowls for dipping.
Notes
Substitute chicken ham for ham and turkey bacon for bacon if variations are preferred.
Use beef instead of pork if adapting other recipes.
Homemade biscuit dough works if you prefer not to use canned dough.
Adding sautéed onions or mushrooms enhances the filling.
