Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ¾ cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
- Add warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients and stir until dough begins to form.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Roll the dough into a ½-inch thick rectangle.
- Evenly sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the dough.
- Add garlic powder and dried oregano on top of the cheese.
- Fold the dough over the cheese and press the edges to seal.
- Cut the dough into sticks about 1 inch wide and 4 inches long.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the sticks, leaving space between each.
- Brush the tops with melted butter.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden brown and cheese is melted inside.
- Let cool slightly and serve with your preferred dipping sauce.
Notes
Dough can be prepared ahead and stored in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
For extra crispiness, brush with additional butter halfway through baking.
Optional: Sprinkle sesame seeds or extra herbs for added flavor.
