Ingredients
Cake
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Cream Filling
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ½ cup marshmallow crème
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Ganache
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare cake pans.
- Mix dry ingredients for the cake.
- Combine wet ingredients separately.
- Mix wet and dry ingredients, then add boiling water.
- Bake the cake layers and cool completely.
- Prepare the cream filling and chill slightly.
- Assemble the cake with filling between layers.
- Make ganache and pour over the assembled cake.
Notes
Ensure cakes are fully cooled before adding filling and ganache.
Use room-temperature butter for the filling to achieve a smooth texture.
Customize by adding flavored extracts, chocolate shavings, or sprinkles.
