Ingredients
- 4 slices of your favorite bread (whole-grain, sourdough, or white)
- 2 slices of turkey bacon
- 2 slices of chicken ham
- 1 slice of cheddar cheese or preferred cheese
- 1 small tomato, sliced
- 2–3 leaves of fresh lettuce
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise or light spread
- 1 teaspoon mustard (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Wash and pat dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato into medium-thick rounds.
- Cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy; drain excess fat with paper towels.
- Lightly warm the chicken ham slices if preferred.
- Slice cheese to desired thickness.
- Optionally toast the bread for added crispness.
- Spread mayonnaise evenly on each slice of bread. Add mustard if desired.
- Layer lettuce on one slice of bread to prevent sogginess.
- Place tomato slices on the lettuce, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper.
- Add turkey bacon and chicken ham slices evenly.
- Place the cheese slice on top.
- Cover with the second slice of bread and press gently.
- Wrap for transport or slice diagonally for serving.
Notes
Substitute vegetables or spreads according to taste.
Prepare ingredients in advance to save time.
Keep wet ingredients like tomatoes separate if storing sandwiches.
