- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1–2 jalapeños, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
- 1 12-ounce bottle of non-alcoholic beer or sparkling apple cider
- 1/4 cup melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Mix thoroughly.
- Fold in shredded cheddar cheese and chopped jalapeños until evenly distributed.
- Gradually add non-alcoholic beer or sparkling apple cider. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Drizzle melted butter over the top of the batter for a golden crust.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Slice and serve.
Notes
Adjust the jalapeños for heat preference.
Use turkey bacon or chicken ham if adding meat.
Experiment with different cheeses or herbs for variety.
