Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish lightly with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a medium bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and 2 teaspoons cinnamon until evenly combined.
- In a separate large bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until smooth.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon for the topping.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar topping over the batter.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cobbler cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Room-temperature milk ensures a smooth batter.
Optional add-ins include fresh fruit, caramel, chocolate chips, or nuts.
The topping caramelizes best when added just before baking.
