Ingredients
- Pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- Fresh blackberries
- Ricotta cheese
- Fresh basil leaves
- Olive oil
- Honey or maple syrup (optional, for drizzling)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
- Roll out pizza dough to a 12-inch circle or rectangle. Lightly flour the surface to prevent sticking.
- Transfer dough to a parchment-lined pizza peel or baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil.
- Spread ricotta cheese evenly over the dough, about ¼-inch thick, and season with salt and pepper.
- Arrange blackberries evenly over the ricotta layer, avoiding overcrowding.
- Drizzle lightly with olive oil or honey for extra flavor.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the crust is golden and crisp. Monitor closely to prevent overbaking.
- Remove from oven and scatter fresh basil leaves on top. Optionally, drizzle a little more honey or maple syrup.
- Slice and serve immediately while warm.
Notes
For a crispier crust, pre-bake the dough for 3–4 minutes before adding toppings.
Optional: Add turkey bacon slices for a savory twist.
Customize with other berries or a sprinkle of nuts for texture.
