Ingredients
Scale
- 4–5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Peel 4-5 fresh garlic cloves and finely mince them until they resemble a garlicky paste.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, pour in ½ cup of extra virgin olive oil and allow it to warm up without smoking.
- Once the oil is warm, add your minced garlic into the pan and stir continuously for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
- Remove the pan from heat and squeeze in juice from half a lemon, then sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of dried oregano along with salt and pepper to taste, stirring everything together.
- Allow your sauce to cool slightly before transferring it to a blender or food processor if you prefer a smoother texture, then blend until creamy and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Drizzle generously over your favorite pizza just before serving or use as a dipping sauce on the side.
Notes
Store leftover sauce in airtight container.
Reheat gently on low heat.
Serve with warm, fresh pizza.
