  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup milk
  • Turkey bacon, finely chopped (optional garnish)
  • Honey (for the glaze)
  • Chili flakes (for the glaze)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Fresh herbs, such as parsley or chives, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix flour, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour milk into a separate bowl.
  4. Dip each shrimp into milk, then coat with the seasoned flour. Repeat for extra crispiness.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry shrimp in small batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
  7. In a small saucepan, combine honey and chili flakes. Warm gently until infused.
  8. Toss fried shrimp in the hot honey glaze until evenly coated.
  9. Sprinkle with chopped turkey bacon and fresh herbs. Serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust chili flakes to control spiciness.

For a lighter version, bake shrimp at 425°F (220°C) for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway.

Double coating the shrimp ensures extra crunch.
