Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ½ cup milk
- Turkey bacon, finely chopped (optional garnish)
- Honey (for the glaze)
- Chili flakes (for the glaze)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Fresh herbs, such as parsley or chives, for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry.
- In a shallow bowl, mix flour, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Pour milk into a separate bowl.
- Dip each shrimp into milk, then coat with the seasoned flour. Repeat for extra crispiness.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry shrimp in small batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
- In a small saucepan, combine honey and chili flakes. Warm gently until infused.
- Toss fried shrimp in the hot honey glaze until evenly coated.
- Sprinkle with chopped turkey bacon and fresh herbs. Serve immediately.
Notes
Adjust chili flakes to control spiciness.
For a lighter version, bake shrimp at 425°F (220°C) for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway.
