Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (about 2¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk (divided, around 110°F)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, optional
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine 1 packet of active dry yeast with ¼ cup of warm milk. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, ½ cup of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and optional 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
- In another bowl, mix together the frothy yeast mixture with an additional ¾ cup of warm milk and 2 large eggs. Whisk until combined. Then add in ¼ cup of softened unsalted butter.
- Pour your wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Stir until it forms a sticky dough. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it's smooth and elastic.
- Place your dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm spot for about an hour or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, punch down gently then divide into equal pieces. Shape them into little balls and place on a greased baking sheet about two inches apart. Cover again and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. Once preheated, bake for about 15-20 minutes or until they’re golden brown on top.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
