Delicious milk and sugar mini buns recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (about 2¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (divided, around 110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, optional

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine 1 packet of active dry yeast with ¼ cup of warm milk. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, ½ cup of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and optional 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the frothy yeast mixture with an additional ¾ cup of warm milk and 2 large eggs. Whisk until combined. Then add in ¼ cup of softened unsalted butter.
  4. Pour your wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Stir until it forms a sticky dough. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it's smooth and elastic.
  5. Place your dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm spot for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Once risen, punch down gently then divide into equal pieces. Shape them into little balls and place on a greased baking sheet about two inches apart. Cover again and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Once preheated, bake for about 15-20 minutes or until they’re golden brown on top.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store mini buns in an airtight container.

Reheat in oven for crispiness.

Serve warm with fresh jam.

Use whole milk for richer flavor.
