- 1 cup plain yogurt, at room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease an 8-inch round cake pan lightly with butter or oil.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine one cup of yogurt and one cup of granulated sugar.
- Use a whisk to blend the yogurt and sugar together until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add one cup of sifted all-purpose flour to the yogurt mixture while folding gently with a spatula.
- Pour the batter into your greased cake pan.
- Give the pan a gentle shake so the batter settles evenly.
- Place the pan in your preheated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Check doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean.
- Once baked, remove your cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it onto a wire rack.
- Allow it to cool completely before slicing into wedges.
- Garnish with fresh fruit or whipped cream if desired, and serve immediately.
