Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice 2 medium apples into thin wedges.
  3. Toss the apple slices with 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and set them aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of whole milk, 3 large eggs, 1 tablespoon of sugar (optional), 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  5. In a large oven-safe skillet or baking dish, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat on the stovetop.
  6. Once melted and bubbly, evenly distribute the butter across the bottom of the pan.
  7. Arrange the cinnamon-coated apple slices evenly over the melted butter.
  8. Pour the prepared batter gently over the apples; don’t stir.
