Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of softened butter, ¾ cup granulated sugar, and ¾ cup brown sugar. Beat together until light and fluffy—about 3-4 minutes.
- Add in 8 ounces of softened cream cheese along with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. Beat until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together 2 cups all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon baking powder. Gradually add this mixture to your wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto your prepared baking sheets, leaving enough space between them.
- Bake in your preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges. Let them cool on the baking sheets for about five minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
