  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup chocolate chips, semi-sweet or dark
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened unsalted butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar.
  4. Cream them together until light and fluffy.
  5. Beat in vanilla extract along with eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  6. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
  7. In another bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, sea salt, and cinnamon.
  8. Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture while mixing on low speed until just combined.
  9. Gently fold in chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon.
  10. Using a cookie scoop or two spoons, drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto your prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
  11. Bake in your preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden but the centers still look slightly soft.
  12. Let them cool on the sheets for about five minutes before transferring them to wire racks.
  13. Dust with powdered sugar when they’re cool enough.

Notes
