Delicious fig and cream cheese bars recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 16 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup figs, chopped
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
  2. Grab an 8×8-inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter.
  4. Mix until crumbly.
  5. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of your prepared pan.
  6. In another bowl, beat together 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  7. Add in chopped figs (about 3/4 cup) gently folding them in so they’re evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  8. Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the crust you created earlier.
  9. Smooth it out with a spatula.
  10. Place your pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until set around the edges but slightly jiggly in the center.
  11. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  12. Lift out using those handy parchment paper flaps you left sticking out earlier.
  13. Before serving, dust with powdered sugar for that picture-perfect finish.
  14. Cut into squares or bars as desired.
  15. Garnish with fresh figs or mint leaves if you're feeling fancy—and serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container.

Reheat bars in the microwave briefly.

Serve with a drizzle of honey.

Use room temperature cream cheese for easier mixing.
