  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brewed coffee (for frosting)
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder. Melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter and add it into the mix along with 2 large eggs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/4 cup of brewed coffee. Stir until everything is well combined into a smooth batter.
  3. Pour the brownie batter into your prepared baking pan. Use a spatula to spread it evenly. Bake in your preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. Once baked, remove from the oven and let your brownies cool in the pan on a wire rack for about 10 minutes. Afterward, carefully lift them out using the parchment paper and let them cool completely on the rack.
  5. In a bowl, mix together 1 cup powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons brewed coffee and 1 tablespoon cocoa powder until smooth. You can adjust consistency by adding more coffee if needed.
  6. Spread that luscious frosting over your cooled brownies generously. Cut them into squares and serve immediately.
