  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup raw shrimp, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • dumpling wrappers, pre-made

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, finely chop 1 cup of raw shrimp into small pieces (about ¼ inch).
  2. Add ¼ cup of chopped fresh chives, 1 tablespoon of minced ginger, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, and 2 tablespoons of finely chopped green onions.
  3. Mix everything until well combined.
  4. Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon of cornstarch to help bind your ingredients together.
  5. Gently fold the mixture until it's evenly coated with cornstarch.
  6. Take one dumpling wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center.
  7. Moisten the edges with water using your finger.
  8. Fold over the wrapper to create a half-moon shape, pressing out any air pockets as you seal it tightly.
  9. Bring a large pot of water to boil over medium heat.
  10. Carefully drop in the dumplings (do this in batches) and cook for about 4-5 minutes or until they float to the surface.
  11. Remove them gently with a slotted spoon.
  12. Arrange your cooked Shrimp and Chive Dumplings on a serving platter.
  13. Drizzle with additional soy sauce or serve alongside a dipping sauce made from soy sauce mixed with rice vinegar for an extra kick.
  14. Garnish with extra chopped chives.

Notes

Store dumplings in an airtight container.

Reheat in a steamer for freshness.

Serve with soy sauce and chili.

Use fresh chives for vibrant flavor.
