- 1 cup crab meat, fresh or canned
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs, dry
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- ½ cup mayonnaise, full-fat or light
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon agar-agar powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine crab meat, panko breadcrumbs, finely chopped green onions, mayonnaise, freshly squeezed lemon juice, Dijon mustard, cayenne pepper, paprika, and agar-agar powder. Stir until well mixed.
- Using your hands, scoop out about two tablespoons of the mixture at a time and shape them into small patties or nuggets. Place them on your prepared baking sheet about an inch apart.
- Bake in your preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy on top.
- Once baked to perfection, remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with additional chopped green onions or dip into your favorite sauce if desired. Serve warm.
- Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or dill if desired. Enjoy immediately while they are still crisp.
