Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Crack in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add the orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet ingredients while mixing on low speed until just combined.
  5. If using, gently fold in the white chocolate chips or chopped nuts using a spatula until evenly distributed.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets about two inches apart. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
